(I) In recent years, many organisations have made use of teams in the workplace, most of which operate autonomously. (II) In these teams, a supervisor gives little direction to the team, and team members manage themselves. (III) The success of such teams depends greatly on team members, including their professional capabilities and their ability to work together. (IV) However, periodic meetings may be necessary to avoid problems associated with too much autonomy. (V) When they have a large variety of business and communication skills and are willing to act as a group, the diversity of their skills and social harmony can greatly enhance an organisation’s ability to be flexible and innovative.
